1. Who we are
Kwiktrade Ltd is registered in Scotland and operates the Kwiktrade platform across the United Kingdom, including Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
For privacy enquiries or requests, contact hello@kwiktrade.co.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Kwiktrade, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, postcode, job or project details, messages, photos, reviews and account information.
For tradespeople, we may also process business details, trade categories, service areas, qualifications, verification results, insurance information, profile media and subscription information.
Where you choose to use location features, we may process location information for job matching, directions and live job tracking. Live location sharing is optional and can be stopped from the relevant job screen.
3. Identity and payment providers
Kwiktrade uses specialist providers for services such as identity verification and subscription payments. Those providers may collect information directly from you under their own privacy terms.
Where identity verification is completed through a verification provider, Kwiktrade uses the verification outcome and related status information needed to operate the service. We do not need to display identity-document images to customers.
4. How we use personal information
We use personal information to create and manage accounts, process trade applications, match jobs with relevant tradespeople, operate emergency requests, deliver messages and notifications, support quotes and projects, provide location features, maintain reviews and verification status, manage subscriptions, prevent misuse and provide customer support.
We may also use service information to improve reliability, investigate complaints, maintain security and comply with legal or regulatory obligations.
5. Our lawful bases
Our lawful basis depends on the activity. We may process information because it is necessary to provide the service or take steps you request before entering a contract, because we have legitimate interests in operating and securing Kwiktrade, because we must comply with law, or because you have given consent.
Where we rely on consent, including for optional marketing where required, you can withdraw it at any time.
6. Who we share information with
Information may be shared with customers or tradespeople when needed to carry out a job, quote, project or emergency request. For example, an assigned tradesperson may receive the customer information needed to contact them and attend the job.
We may also use trusted service providers for hosting, infrastructure, email delivery, identity verification, payments, file storage, security and support. We only share information that is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
7. Retention and security
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, including providing the service, maintaining transaction and job history, resolving disputes, preventing fraud and meeting legal obligations.
We use technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the service, including encrypted connections and access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict or object to certain processing, request portability in applicable circumstances, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise a right, email hello@kwiktrade.co. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
9. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Kwiktrade develops or legal requirements change. The latest version will always be published on this page with its update date.
